Writing is a lot like fishing. First, you need to capture your audience’s attention if you want them to bite. Someone skilled in either craft knows there’s a time to be flashy and there’s a time to take a more subtle approach. But in the end it all comes down to the hook and if your audience isn’t hooked, you’re left empty handed. I may not be a professional angler but with my 10 years of experience as a professional writer, I know how to tell a good fish tale and captivate an audience, at least with my words and I’m working on my fishing.
